Seville, Victoria
The method of project delivery for the Woolworths Seville project was Design and Construct. Becon Constructions (Aust) were appointed early in the design phase undertaking both the co-ordination of specialist consultants and negotiations with regulatory authorities.
The site was subject to a series of constraints including a designated flood level set by Melbourne Water. Becon were able to co-ordinate a re-design of the civil works to satisfy Woolworth’s, Melbourne Waters and the DDA requirements. The solution also involved the use of a detention and Biofilter system.
In addition to the above Becon undertook extensive negotiations with the planning department of Woolworths. This resulted in a secondary consent process to ensure Woolworth’s requirements were met.
In summary this project demonstrates Becon’s understanding of the Woolworths design brief and their ability to work closely with Woolworths to achieve the required outcomes.
